
Vesna Dodiković-Jurković, Ph.D. is a highly accomplished expert in biology and higher education quality assurance, currently serving as the Deputy Director of the Agency for Science and Higher Education (ASHE) in Zagreb, Croatia. She earned her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral (Dr. sc.) degrees in Biology from the Faculty of Science at the University of Zagreb.
Dr. Dodiković-Jurković began her career in 1986 as a biology teacher before spending nearly two decades as an Assistant and Senior Assistant at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb, from 1987 to 2005. In 2006, she joined the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport as a Professional Advisor, and subsequently transitioned to ASHE later that year. Within the Agency, she advanced through several pivotal roles, including Senior Expert Advisor, Head of Department, and Assistant Director, before being appointed Deputy Director in July 2013.
A leading figure in regional and international academic networks, Dr. Dodiković-Jurković served as the President of the Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA) from 2024 to 2026, following a two-year term as Vice-President. Her leadership extends to structural governance, having headed or served on the strategic planning working groups for ASHE, the Ministry of Science and Education, and the University of Mostar. Dr. Dodiković-Jurković has frequently served as a panel member for institutional audits across various universities and colleges in Croatia and Slovenia.
