Invitation to the Congress

Traditionally held every two years, the 8th International Teacher Education and Accreditation Congress -ITEAC 2026- will be hosted by Marmara University and organised in collaboration with Atatürk Faculty of Education, on October 16–17, 2026, in Istanbul, Türkiye.

The primary aim of the congress is to facilitate the international exchange of up-to-date knowledge, experiences, and best practices in the fields of quality assurance and accreditation in teacher education, while strengthening awareness and fostering a culture of quality. ITEAC seeks to bring together academics, policymakers, representatives of quality agencies, and practitioners on a common platform, providing a ground for discussions that will shape the future of teacher education.

EPDAD is an independent accreditation body authorized by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) and is responsible for the accreditation of teacher education programs in Türkiye. Through its work in accreditation, evaluation, and quality assurance, EPDAD aims to enhance the quality of teacher education in our country, contributing to the training of qualified and well-equipped teachers who adopt contemporary approaches. EPDAD is also a full member of the Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA), representing Türkiye at the board level.

At this year’s congress, we intended to share scientific studies addressing current trends, policies, models, and best practices that strengthen quality assurance in teacher education and guide accreditation processes. The congress program will comprise Paper Presentations, the “Student Workshop” organized by the EPDAD Student Commission, the “Best Practice Examples Panel” with the participation of Deans of Faculties of Education, the Workshop on Graduate Program Accreditation Standards, as well as a Workshop involving Program Accreditation Organizations.

We are honoured to invite esteemed academics and experts to share your work on an international platform and to develop a common vision at the 8th International Teacher Education and Accreditation Congress – ITEAC 2026.
