To facilitate access to the Marmara University Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Campus (Başıbüyük/Maltepe) for guests travelling from outside the city to attend our conference, details of transport options by air, sea and rail are set out below.
Important Transport Note:
The key interchange for all out-of-town transport routes is Küçükyalı Station on the M4 Kadıköy – Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro Line. Whichever mode of transport you use, once you exit via Exit 2 of Küçükyalı Station (towards Aydınevler), you can use the on-campus or nearby routes departing from the bus platforms:
• KM41 (Başıbüyük Health Campus – Küçükyalı Metro – Marmara University) • KM45 (Towards Campus Stop) • KM41-1 / KM43 (Express Routes)
Transport Details
Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW)
Estimated Journey Time: 45–55 minutes
Access the M4 Sabiha Gökçen–Kadıköy Metro Line directly from within the airport.
After a metro journey of approximately 35–40 minutes, alight at Küçükyalı (or, alternatively, Maltepe) station.
Exit via Exit 2 (towards Aydınevler) and board the İETT ring routes numbered KM41, KM41-1, KM43 or KM45 or the Başıbüyük minibuses from the bus stops to reach the campus.
Istanbul Airport (IST)
Estimated Journey Time: 80–100 minutes
From the airport, take the M11 Istanbul Airport–Gayrettepe Metro Line and alight at Gayrettepe station.
From Gayrettepe station (Köprülü Kavşak stop), board the 251 (Pendik) bus, which travels directly to the Anatolian Side via the E-5, and alight at Küçükyalı Metro station.
After alighting, transfer to bus routes KM41, KM41-1, KM43 or KM45 to reach the faculty buildings within the campus directly.
Bostancı High-Speed Train (YHT) Station
Estimated Journey Time: 20–30 minutes
Option A (Direct Marmaray + Metro Transfer):
•From Bostancı YHT station, take the Marmaray line and alight at Küçükyalı station after one stop.
•Take a short walk to the M8 Bostancı–Dudullu Metro line, and after one stop, change at Kozyatağı station to the M4 Kadıköy–Sabiha Gökçen Metro line, heading to the Küçükyalı M4 stop.
Option B (Final Stage Ring Transfer):
•From Exit 2 (Aydınevler) of the Küçükyalı metro station, proceed to the platforms.
•Board one of the express bus routes KM41, KM41-1, KM43 or KM45, which go directly to the campus, and alight in front of the faculty buildings.
Kadıköy Sea Bus Terminal
Estimated Journey Time: 30–40 minutes
After alighting from the sea bus, walk a few steps to enter the starting station of the M4 Kadıköy–Sabiha Gökçen Metro Line.
After an approximately 18-minute metro journey, alight at Küçükyalı station.
Exit via Exit 2 and take one of the İETT bus routes numbered KM41, KM41-1, KM43 or KM45 from the bus stops to reach the campus buildings directly.
